OSDP Config

You have access to OSDP Config, and you will be able to use it here as soon as it is ready. This page already lists what it will do and what you will need.

What it Will Do

  • Finds a reader on the bus and reads its identity (ID report) and capabilities (CAP report).
  • Sends an osdp_COMSET command to change the reader’s address and baud rate, and checks that it answers on the new settings.
  • Starts a Secure Channel session using the default key (SCBK-D). If the reader accepts it, the reader is in install mode (or still uses the default key); if it refuses, it has its own key.

Changing a reader’s address or baud rate takes effect straight away, so the tool will show you what it is about to send and ask you to confirm first.

What you Will Need

  • A reader wired to the adapter, and (if you know them) its current address and baud rate. The tool can also look for it.
  • Desktop Chrome or Edge with a USB-to-RS-485 adapter. Your browser asks you to choose the adapter, and the page can only use the one you pick.
  • Only one tab can use the adapter at a time, so close any other OSDP Tools tab that has it open.
